Holy Crap!!! Thundersnow?

I hear on NPR this morning that 85 Evangelical Christians signed a letter saying that they "back a major initiative to fight global warming, saying "millions of people could die in this century because of climate change, most of them our poorest global neighbors."". This list included some major Evangelicals such as Duane Litfin, president of Wheaton College and Rick Warren, author of the best seller "The Purpose-Driven Life".

But even though these people are backing this some other Evangelical types are not. This included people like Charles W. Colson, the founder of Prison Fellowship Ministries; James C. Dobson, founder of Focus on the Family; and Richard Land, president of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention. They all signed a letter saying that "global warming is not a consensus issue. This after we had the worst hurricane season on record and reports of more frequent occurrences of thundersnow.

What is thundersnow?. Its a rare occurace (well used to be) of a thunderstorm in front of a cold front where snow is the major form of precipitation. It usually happens when "A heavy snowstorm that catches a warm draft of air which allows favorable conditions for lightning and thunder to occur" (emphasis mine). I can't find a source for its increased occurances but it is something to think about along with all these tornados we are seeing in November, December and January.

I wonder where these people get that global warming isn't a censuses issue. Ask any scientist and they will not argue that Global Warming is happening. Sort of like the Jury is out on evolution, yet every ones scared of bird flu evolving to be able to be spread for human to human.

Anyway, I'm glad that some of these evangelical are coming to there senses. It's about time.
