So I bought a Beer making kit Friday and attempted my first home brew. I have been a big fan of micro and hand crafted beers for quite some time now. I thought it was time to put my hand in to trying to make some. I bought a set kit made by Brewers Best. I figured that would be the best way to learn since the kits have everything you need in them, malts, yeast hops, ect.. They are supposed to be easy and self explanatory. The instructions where pretty easy. We shall see today was day 3 of my fermentation process so ill have to check on it. I still have a few weeks till it drinkable. I hope it works out well. We shall see..
So the oscars where last night. This was the first year I can say I saw every nominated best picture and most of the other major nominees in the major categories. Here are my picks for the 9 major categories as compared to winners (underlined ones I got wrong):

So 7 of 9 not bad. I'll have to see if I do better next year. Lots of movies to see . And who was that tall ass women giving the statues to people (only person taller then her was Tim Robbins)? and what was with them giving oscars in the crowd? Not sure what that was all about.

Well it looks like the pope is pretty sick. Kinda sad even though I am not a religious person. I have a feeling they will try to keep him alive as long as they can. I wonder why? Not like he can do anything to help the church. Maybe cause he is a symbol.
I'm fascinated by the procedure to .... I guess "elect" a new pope with the smoke signals and such (although I believe that the pope should be passed for generation to generation, maybe I'm wrong. So I saw million dollar baby last night. Really good but considering it was a clint eastwood movie what do you expect? So all I have left to watch is Ray to get all the best picture nominees seen. This years Oscar nominees are pretty good. I kinda glad there wasn't a huge movie like Lord of the Rings this year. Anyway ill make my picks for the oscars after seeing a few more movies.
Anyway I'm really tired .. guess I need to get back to work.

So I got in to work this morning and found out Hunter S. Thompson killed himself. Kinda weird but unfortunately I haven't read anything of his. I have been meaning to but maybe now is a good time. I did see the Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas movie, was a tad weird but good none the less. Maybe ill make a point to at lest read that one and maybe Hells Angles. I do need to read more. I been slacking a bit lately.
I got to see Constantine this weekend. Really good movie. Lots of religious symbolism. Interesting part for Keanu Reeves to take after being Neo. John Constantine is this hard drinking, chain smoking anti hero. This movie is pulled form the HellBlazer Comic book. Lots of cool special effects. I recommend seeing it. Might want to brush up on your Catholic symbolism before hand, might help you understand a bit more.
Hmm what else did I do this weekend..... Met with a friend I have seen in a while Sunday. Vandy won their basketball game Saturday maybe they can get a NCAA tournament bid. I watched Open Water Friday night. Was pretty good. Comparable to Blair witch. I like the psychological scary stuff better than special effects scary. I am picky about my movies.
