I watched the LSU-Arkansas game (Geaux Tigers) and caught the end of the Nebraska -Colorado (go Huskers) game and cleaned my apartment which really needed it.

Election Thoughts

Well Harold Ford didn't win. I was hoping he would win after seeing the national trend as the vote tallies came in. As of this posting it looks as if the House will be Democratically controlled and the Senate may be depending on how Jim Webb and Senator George"Mecaca" Allen handle a recount in Virginia.

Some thoughts and observations:

How can a state elect a Republican Senator and a Democrat Governor? Both are state wide votes.

I thought that Amendment 1 would pass but not by an 81% margin. How can people be that hateful? I just don't get it.

While I was in line at my polling place (West Meade Elementary) I could see plainly see the way people where voting on 3 different machines. Are you not supposed to be able to vote in private? They really need the curtains back that they had on the old machines. I don't care how other people vote but it bothers me that other people can see how I vote. I filed a complaint with the election board but I hope it was not in all polling places here in Nashville. Just mine.

Now that the Democrats seem to have seized legislative control will they fuck it up or will they actually get a backbone and do something constructive. And I don't mean start impeachment proceedings, as much as I would like that. There are sooo many other things that need attention like health care, a much better minimum wage, fixing our broken education system, and so on. So get with the program Democrats and Rep Pelosi. This is our chance to show everyone that you are not sniffling cowering yes-men. But leaders with ideas. Maybe you can keep control longer than 1 election cycle.

All in all I am happy with the overall outcome, but I am very disappointed in the results in my state.
